Sujata Hansda is an active 21 year old, currently pursuing her graduation from Visva Bharati university. Diagnosed with hemophilia B when she was 6 years old, Sujata experienced several bleeding episodes. The pain and inflammation impacted her mobility, which left her dependent on crutches for much of her childhood. A disease that prevents blood from clotting properly, hemophilia B is caused by a deficiency of a clotting protein called factor IX. However she knew that her disease could not stop her from achieving her dreams. She continued to follow her passion in art and craft. Later, she developed the skill of jewellery making which then happened to be her new found business. Sujata is setting an example for all of the ailing patients that hemophilia does not define who she is. She chooses to be more. She’s also incredibly altruistic in her efforts to give back to the community.
